Kilian is Program Coordinator and one of the Brass Arrangers for the Blue Saints Drum & Bugle Corps.
Chris Kilian hails from Philadelphia, PA and has been continuously involved in the marching arts since 1991. He has spent 14 of the last 15 years with the Bushwackers Drum & Bugle Corps (DCA), 10 of those years as drum major. Mr. Kilian is currently serving as the Staff Coordinator and Brass Caption Head for the Bushwackers. In 2008 he helped the new Fusion Core Drum & Bugle Corps rise to new levels of success as their Program Coordinator and Brass Arranger. "The Core" finished 2nd in Class A at the DCA World Championships, taking high brass, high visual, and high color guard honors in just their second season ever.
Chris studied music theory and composition in college and is a member of the men's music fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He currently works as a composer, arranger, designer, judge, and consultant for bands around the United States through his company, C.E. Kilian Designs, and is the co-founder of Cadence Artistic Group, a company providing educational media to music teachers and students.
Outside of the marching arts, Chris resides in a suburb of Philadelphia, PA with his lovely wife, Dena.
"I am honored and truly excited to be the program coordinator for the Blue Saints," said Kilian. "It was obvious from my first conversation with Mark Ripley that this is an organization that is committed to growing and improving, both on the field and off, while still providing their members a family atmosphere where education is the primary goal. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to help." |
