Scott Broadbent - Brass Instructor/Arranger

Return to 2010 Design & Instructional Staff
Scott Broadbent's involvement in the drum corps activity originates in the small town of Smiths Falls, marching Soprano with the O.Y.B Lampliters in 1991. After the corps went inactive in 1992, Scott moved on to the emerging CYE, and marched to a 1st place finish in the Canadian Junior B Championships, CYE's first year in competition.
Scott finished his involvement with CYE in 1996 on the Alto horn, coming 3-tenths of a point from making the DCI Division III finals. Several years later in 2001, Scott joined the Kingston Grenadiers on Soprano, before switching to Mellophone for 2002/2003. Taking a year off, he returned to Kingston for 2005 on Euphonium, and recently played Baritone in 2008.
Scott's first teaching experience was as a music assistant for a local middle school in 1996, but made several career changes in the interim, and only recently returned to a teaching position in 2008 with Capital Ensemble. Scott has joined the Blue Saints in 2009 to assist with the music and visual elements of the program.
Although he dabbled with composing in his junior corps days, 2008 marked his entrance into the field of composing and arranging music, utilizing technolgy to assist in developing the library for his current project the Spark! Ensemble. |
